I have been a runner on and off (mostly on) for the past 9 years. For most of that time I have owned some form of GPS watch to track my distance. Planning runs however has largely happened in cloud based services. Once upon a time I was an avid DailyMile user, but as you can see their sun has set. MapMyRun is a another thing you have to have an account for, but does exactly what it says it will do. I have been on the hunt for something dead simple to plan running routes and I think I’ve found it in How far did I run?. It is easy to use, does not require an account, and can get me out the door and running in no time.
